Blake and I decided to attend the PGA Show in Orlando, Florida, one of the largest golf expos worldwide. To give you an idea of its size, the show is so expansive that you need a navigation app to find your way around!
Of course, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring our clubs to Florida, a golfing paradise. TPC Sawgrass, home of the Players Championship and famous for its challenging holes, was just a short ride up the freeway. Playing there was an amazing experience, especially right before the tournament. It's definitely something I'd recommend adding to your bucket list.
During our time at the expo, we met with our suppliers and explored the variety of new equipment on display. Despite our efforts, the sheer scale of the conference made it nearly impossible to visit every booth. Nonetheless, as we wandered through the show, we came across everything from golf carts the size of monster trucks to fascinating inventions like the swing shirt and swingless golf clubs.
After a few exhausting days at the show, we managed to fit in a couple of rounds of golf before heading to our next stop, Chicago.
Our journey in the USA ended with a visit to Wilson Staff's facilities in Chicago. Our first stop was their innovation center, which proved to be one of the most memorable experiences in the industry for me. The center is where they conduct the majority of their research and development, not only for golf but also for sports like basketball, American football, baseball, and tennis. Both Blake and I underwent fitting sessions using Wilson's new 'Fit AI' system, the latest innovation that analyzes various aspects of your swing and recommends fitting options based on your unique tendencies. Keep an eye out for this technology arriving in stores soon!
We concluded our visit at Wilson's head office in central Chicago, overlooking the iconic 'Cloud Gate' landmark. The office showcased their rich history across all sports, serving as a truly inspiring facility.
The entire trip was incredibly fulfilling and enjoyable, and it's something I'd love to experience again. We tried to capture as much of the journey as possible, so be sure to check out the videos if you haven't already!
